One more win secures the Tide a top-four year and a double-bye in Hoover.
Look at how they massacred my boy…
Sales had been a long time Alabama lean. Actually it’s more than that. He had grown up obsessed with the Crimson Tide. His nickname was even ‘Bama.
Though he eventually had visits with other serious deep spenders and teams with great professional placement track records — Texas, Ohio State, Oregon and Miami — just last week, the Tide were expected to be able to seal the deal from here.
But this Fongbomb is literally a bolt out of the blue — just one visit to IU five weeks ago despite Sales being from Indianapolis. For the Hoosiers to come up this strong, this late, with their thin NFL record, and an offense that does not cultivate a professional route tree, tells you what this is about — although I suspect you already know.

Alabama isn’t going to win very many mercenary bidding wars, such as the one Sales has apparently tried to invite. And that’s because Alabama isn’t going to engage in them. Enjoy Bloomington, a string of one-year RPO starters, and trying to explain to NFL GMs that you made it out of college without knowing how to read a high-low choice out of a 340 stack. (That’s not to say that it’s not a clever offense. It is. It’s just very…college).
NIL done right.
But just because some people have turned the notion of NIL into straight pay for play doesn’t mean there aren’t innovative instances of NIL being done very well. And we try to highlight them as we find them; today is just such an instance — part of the deal received by 5-star QB Jared Curtis.
If you recall, Curtis was originally committed to Georgia, to answer the question of what happens in Dawg World after Gunner Stockton. But Curtis almost immediately flipped to the ‘Dores, becoming Vandy’s first overall 5-star recruit.
Did you ever wonder how Coach Clark Lea pulled that off? With some very creative hustling…
The former five-star recruit, competing for the starting gig next season at Vanderbilt, will be in Nate Bargatze’s movie “The Breadwinner,”
Bargatze, a Vanderbilt fan, is based in Nashville and appeared on ESPN’s “College GameDay” in 2025 for the Commodores’ game against Missouri. It was there Bargatze called out Curtis and asked him to flip his commitment from Georgia to Vanderbilt, and also threw out the idea of being in a movie.
“Just remind Jared Curtis how much I would love for you to come to Vanderbilt,” he said on the broadcast. “And we’re both local kids. We’ll become best friends, bud.
Hey, leverage what you’ve got. A bit roll in a movie may seem inconsequential now, but it could get your foot in the door for a post-playing career.
Everything about this is awesome.

The No. 18 Alabama Crimson Tide baseball team began its season-ending series at the Joe, hosting No. 15 Ole Miss. And the Tide were finally healthy, getting back Neal, Tyler Fay, and Lebron all without limitation.
A healthy ‘Bama paid off immediately, as Justin finally rediscovered his slumbering power and his dinger would eventually prove the final margin. (Plus, Tyler Fay was awesome on the mound.)
There were some disappointing at-bats with runners on, but the Tide did generate a little small ball, a little power, another quality start, and Heidberger slammed the door closed on the save opportunity for the 5–4 final.
Not dominant in anything, but solid in everything — which was just enough to claim the 5–4 win, and currently sit alone in third place in the SEC. 🙏🏼 That’s how you play team baseball.
In the history of bullshit that has never been spoken, this bullshit has not been spoken the most:
Hey, coach, we really like you. But my grandparents aren’t letting me move to Oxford, Mississippi,’” Kiffin said top recruits would tell him about Ole Miss. “That doesn’t come up when you say Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Parents were sitting here this weekend saying the campus’s diversity feels so great: ‘It feels like there’s no segregation. And we want that for our kid because that’s the real world.’”
As you can imagine, the graying, wrinkling, middle-aged toddler is getting roasted for his exceptionally bad faith interview in Vanity Fair, where he threw the SEC broadly, and Ole Miss specifically, under the bus for “segregation.”
And it is particularly egregious here, since the LSU Tigers are named after a confederate regiment, and Ole Miss — alongside the other Deep South State Flagships, is one of the country’s most diverse campuses. As you would expect, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, South Carolina — the deep south, also have the SEC’s greatest enrollment of Black students
In short, these campuses look like the real world.
We know what this is about though. He is too narcissistic at the end of the day to not tip his hand — he is still exceptionally asshurt that Ole Miss would not let him stick around to burnish his reputation, tamper with the roster, and promote his new emplonwew— and he framed it as “if I had been allowed to stay, we may have won the whole thing.”
But that is just a Lane counterfactual. In the real world, Pete Golding did win one game and was one score away from making the CFFP final. That means that Pete, not Lane, is the most decorated Ole Miss postseason coach.
And Kiffin is going to drop Napalm on the Grove at every opportunity because he does not like dealing with the consequences of his own actions.
One of last year‘s bright spots, and one of the seasons, unquestioned leaders, Jocelyn Brisky qualified as a Top 10 finalist for POTY. Grant and Woolery are going to run away with most of the postseason hardware, so just being nominated is the real victory this year.
Congratulations, Jocelyn. Roll Damn Team Elebenty
And finally, your moment of levity.
Have a good morning, and you folks take care. Roll Tide.
